Can

Being a very active person with a background in martial arts (Taek Won Do), Can came to realise how important active (Yoga) and passive (massage) relaxation is to help relieve sore muscles, release the tensions that are bound to crop up as a result of a busy life and aid in developing a tranquil and happy body.

Can understood quite early that flexibility and elasticity of muscles and tendons are fundamental in maintaining this magnificent tool, that we call body, strong and healthy as long as we live. Gradually shifting his attention towards Ayurvedic and Yogic practices, Can became a certified Yoga teacher in 2008.

His experience with the Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, as learned from Ananta Sylvain Girard, showed him that the applications of the art of massage is more complex than he had originally anticipated. Can discovered that improving flexibility, correcting posture and detoxification of the body can happen on the massage mattress.

Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) has a different approach. The focus here lies on acupressure points and energy lines to unlock emotional blockages. Relaxation of muscles and the whole body occurs as a side effect. Therein lies the magic of Thai Yoga Massage.

Can’s amazing teacher of TYM, Itzhak Helman was disciple of the great Asokananda who published the first book on TYM in foreign language. TYM as learned in Thailand usually happens in oral tradition. His work not only facilitated the spread of Thai Yoga Massage in the West. By giving a structure to understand and learn this ancient technique, students now had a written reference and manual for the theoretical and practical foundation for the therapeutic healing qualities of TYM.

His teacher Itzhak, taught Can that each touch, soft or intense, done in a meditative mood brings about relaxation and healing for body and soul. Not only for the receiver, but also the giver of the massage.

Can offers:

  • Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) – a massage for the soul with the wonderful effect of flexibility and suppleness for the body.
  • Ayurvedic Yoga Massage – a detoxifying, deep tissue massage with a combination of assisted Yogic stretches.
